Questions,
answered.

The things people most often ask about SAIDS, membership and getting involved. Can't find your answer? Just get in touch.

What is SAIDS?
The Sabah Interior Designers Society is a non-profit organisation founded in 2020, committed to connecting likeminded interior designers and industry suppliers across Sabah.
Who can join?
Anyone connected to the interior design field in Sabah — students, practicing professionals, or industry/trade businesses. There's a tier for each.
What are the membership tiers?
Three: Student, Professional, and Associate Business. See the Membership page.
How much does membership cost?
Annual fees are Student RM100, Professional RM250 and Associate Business RM500 — each including a RM50 administration fee. See the Membership page or get in touch.
How do I apply?
Choose your tier on the Membership page, then send us your details through the contact form. We'll confirm your fee and set you up with access.
Do I need to be a qualified designer to join?
Not necessarily — students join under the Student tier and businesses as Associate members. The Professional tier is for practicing interior designers.
What do members get?
Depending on tier: access to events and workshops (often discounted), members-only resources, a directory listing, mentorship and networking, and a voice in advocacy.
How can my company partner with SAIDS?
Join as an Associate Business member. See the Partners page or get in touch.
Where is SAIDS based?
Our office is at the Iramanis Centre, Jln Lintas, 88450 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah — and we serve designers across the whole state.
What's the difference between the Student and Professional tiers?
The Student tier is for those still studying — it includes access to selected events, mentorship, student workshop rates and job-posting notifications. The Professional tier is for practicing interior designers and adds access to all events, members-only resources, a professional directory listing and advocacy for the profession.
How often does SAIDS hold events?
SAIDS runs a year-round programme of talks, workshops, supplier showcases, site visits and social gatherings. Upcoming dates are always listed on the Events page.
I'm based outside Sabah — can I still get involved?
SAIDS is centred on Sabah's interior design community, but if you're based elsewhere and connected to the field here, get in touch and we'll talk through the options.
What's the society's official name?
SAIDS stands for the Sabah Interior Designers Society. Its name in Malay is Persatuan Perekabentuk Dalaman (Sabah).
